Benefits of Coaching

The benefits of coaching are not what you might think, and are often confused with results and the value of coaching.

Consider this… if you have a goal you want to achieve, such as increasing your net profits, and coaching gets you there faster than you thought possible, is increased profits a benefit of coaching?  It would appear that increased profit is the goal; getting there faster and with less effort is the actual benefit of coaching.  The value of coaching in this case is some amount of extra profit you made.

When you bring a specific goal to coaching, the deceptively simple process of dialog yields great value.  The coach asks questions and listens on multiple levels, helping the client get some very specific benefits, including:

  • Deeper insights
  • Clarity
  • Focus
  • Self awareness
  • Alternate perspectives
  • Answers.

These wonderful things come from you, the client, and from the process of dialog.  They don’t come from the coach.  In fact, the coach’s job is to empower you to find your own answers, your own clarity and focus.  In a coaching engagement, I will coach, but you will do the work, and you will get great value from applying the benefits of coaching to your goals.

If that sounds like something you want to do, contact me and we can figure out how best to get you moving towards your goals.
